SOMEONE HAS WRITTEN ANOTHER POETRY

Áwòdì,
If your wings will take you above the sky
If your beak will puncture the virgin clouds
Then tell God in his fury to stub the earth
That someone has written another poetry
A poetry of patience grown on poe-trees.

Èfúfùlèlè,
If forest leaves still come at your beckons
If you still excurse wool on the globe-tours
Tell that hopeless man on his suicide path
That someone has written another poetry
A poetry of hopeful hope in dope dwelling

Ōlúōdò
If maidens still come to you with their pots
If they still worship you in frights of floods
Then tell the sick with infirmities and odds
That someone has written another poetry
A poetry of health messaged in poet-tricks

Òsùpá
If there still exists lonely path called night
If sun is still being buried under your arms
Then tell the men staring at the dark skies
That someone has written another poetry
A poetry that shall soon bring us a morning

Osupa: The moon
Oluodo: The river goddess
Efufulele: The blowing air
Awodi: A high soaring bird.
